How we started

In early 2009, Anis Ahmed came across a Bangladeshi Diplomat who asked if he could help pay for repatriation of Bangladeshis who have been released from Karachi Jail. Anis immediately decided to help them and with the active assistance of BMET we have finally brought 7 Bangladeshis back to Dhaka (read more). And since then it all started.

Who are we

Anis Ahmed founded MGH Group as a start up in 1992 named after my Father M. Ghaziul Haque, my wife Suhana Ahmed and I have co-founded, and incorporated Suhana and Anis Ahmed Foundation (SAAF) in 2017 to give our pledge to our community a structured face, and a shape.

What we do

Prior to founding of SAAF, our community work has been driven by need of people communicated to us via relatives, office associates, newspaper stories, friends, however, after establishment of SAAF, in majority funded by our annual Zakat obligations, we have undertaken narrowed scope of initiatives which can have greater impact on Young individuals of Bangladesh. Yes, it’s all about Young Bangladeshis who comprise of almost more than 50% of the current population of 180 millions as of today.

Where we work

SAAF undertakes impactful initiatives enabling help change lives, extend supportive hands or refer it as a “Tailwind” to youngsters to lift barriers/blockades to their lives so that our future generations can live life to their fullest. Specially lives of young people constrained by Vision (Eyesight), accidental burns, lack of financial capabilities to pursue education, medical attention, even daily meals. As we believe that Success is a Journey not a destination, even if we can support the youngsters to reach one stretch or step of the whole journey of their lives if not the whole, SAAF has served its Intentions of becoming a Tailwind.
