• Bangladeshi Migrants Repatriation Program

    In 2009, we took an initiative to bring back 7 Bangladeshis who were in Fortune seekers in Pakistan jail for 8 years without any specific conviction and with the help of BMET we were successful in bringing them back in Bangladesh. Later on in 2012, we have brought 20 migrants from Tanzanian prison as well. In 2013, worked with BMET to bring 18 migrants from Egypt and one Woman migrant from Lebanon who were having torturous life over there with the assistance of Bangladesh Embassy in Jordan. This project was stopped due to lack of NGO organizational support in Lebanon. Few links are given below:

  • Infant Incubators, and radiant warmers

    A research shows that one fifth of babies are born premature in Bangladesh. To prevent, and reduce new-born mortality we have distributed total 6 Open Warmer/ Baby Warmer to the below Hospitals:

    • Dhaka Medical College Hospital (4 Baby Warmers)

    • Shariatpur Sadar Hospital (1 Baby Warmer)

    • Dhaka Shishu Hospital (1 Baby Warmer)

    All of the Infant warmers are working perfectly till date.

  • Smart Cane for Blind Students

    To help Blind students finding their destination (i.e. desks, bed, identify barriers which may trip them etc) with greater confidence, we have distributed Smart Cane to students of BERDO, and to Bangladesh Baptist Church Shangha.

    So far we have distributed 50 Smart Canes to these 2 organizations. In BERDO, to Students who are in their Class IX, X, XI regular in class attendance and coaching centers. In BMIS it was mostly given to the working women from different parts of Bangladesh who has to go outside regularly for their work purpose.

  • State of the Art Operations Theatre at DMCH Burn Unit

    In 2013, I was approached by Dr. Samanta Lal Sen, A reputed Plastic Surgeon, and Founder of the Burn Unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital to modernize the beleaguered Operation Theatre, we did assist with funds, brand new equipment, lighting, surgical apparatuses etc with a commitment from Dr. Sen that he can’t publicize our humble support as both Suhana, and Anis believes that while doing charity, the left hand shouldn’t know the right hand’s doing(s).

  • Financial support for complicated Eye surgeries at Bangladesh Eye Trust Hospital

    SAAF has been supporting BETH over the past 13 months. Primarily BETH’s Cataract Camps all across Bangladesh, supporting monthly 30-40 free cataract operations, however, we have now extended a new agreement our financial support is limited to 1 day old baby to 50 years old patients for free eye operations operation so that younger patients get a second chance to live life to the fullest.

  • Autistic Children’s Welfare Foundation

    We believe that every kids are born with some special qualities, needs continuous nurturing, help. We are helping these partner organizations over 10 years who works with Special kids. Apart from education they provide occupational therapy, physio therapy, speech therapy, behavior therapy, music therapy. They have regular students and also provide distance support. Regularly they have 40 students and distantly they are covering around 400 students. Few of the students from this organization also was shifted to normal schools which we believe a great achievement.

  • Children’s Leukemia Ward at BSMMU

    SAAF has been working with the Department of Pediatric Hematology & Oncology of BSMMU since 2018 to ensure children who are suffering from Leukemia can have access to all of the medical supports, and medications to secure Complete Remission from Leukemia . We are trying to help the patients with our small helps given below:

    • Fund, and Provide two crucial medicines to this department for all the kids (31 beds) who are admitted for the treatment.

    • Arrange a midday snacks to these kids and the snacks, as most children don’t like eating hospital kitchen’s menu.

    • Ensuring High Hygiene which significantly reduce mortality: Hand Sanitizers, Hand wash and bed covers to this department monthly to maintain clean and hygiene environment in the ward.

    • We are also installing television (@ each Patient’s bed) & at folding beds (to accommodate outdoor patients) in the ward soon so that kid patients are kept busy watching cartoons, forget the pain, and suffering of battling Leukemia, Chemo-therapies at such tender, young age.

    Every day new patients are getting admitted here and most of them come from a very needy family. Our try is just to ease their staying in the hospital.

  • Bidyanondo Foundation (Ek Takar Ahar)

    SAAF learned about Bidyanondo Foundation (BF) from social Media on 2019. BF works on different platforms with different projects. Here is their facebook link: বিদ্যানন্দ - Bidyanondo . Our team reached to the founder of the organization Mr. Kishor Kumar Das, a former Peru based Corporate professional, and asked how we can contribute in their organization. Mr. Das proposed supports to 4 orphanages in 4 remote areas.(Rajbari, Ruma, Bandarban, Ramu) where the kids get free education, food and accommodation. Since June 2019 to December 2019 we helped this organization to provide everyday 3 times meals to these 270 orphans in 4 orphanages.

    After SAAF’s successful association with Bidyanondo Foundation, SAAF’s Board of Trustees are considering to extend SAAF’s support to other projects of Bidyanondo Foundation specials schoolsat Dhaka, Rajshahi, Chittagong & Narayangonj. There are total of 550 students enrolled from slums who receive free education, food, medical healthcare & family incentive pack and also planning to help them in building a girls hostel in Ramu.

  • Education: Educational support for the children of Late Journalist AZM Anas

    Anas has been an award-winning journalist, winning the Gold Prize of “Prince Albert II of Monaco”, and UNCA Awards on Climate Change in 2019, first-ever Bangladeshi to receive such awards. Anas was also a contributing writer for Global Media outlets like Nikkei, Reuters, and Atlantic. He was relentless in showcasing Bangladesh’s economic rise, hence during the Covid lock downs in 2020, he reached out to the Founder of MGH Group, Anis Ahmed (also the Co-founder of Suhana and Anis Ahmed Foundation) to interview him on MGH rise as a Global Multinational group. By the time Anas could file the interview which was solely on Zoom, on March 16th, 2021, he passed away at the age of 45.

    SAAF (Suhana and Anis Ahmed Foundation) undertook financial supports for his school going Daughter, and Son with the consent of his widow to ensure both children are able to complete their education, and pursue career ambitions of their choice.

  • Home for Senior Citizens

    SAAF supports Monwara Islam Tajul Islam Welfare Trust’s building an old home for senior citizens abandoned by their family, and are left with no financial means to live the minimums of life. Shailan Probeen Nibash’s construction work is progressing fast since January of 2020. This Old Home will be in Shailan, Dhamrai, may accommodate around 50 Senior Citizens.

  • Aid for flood affected people

    In 2017 we reached to 1,027 families who were badly affected by the flood. We distributed the relief in Chilir Bandar Dinajpur as that area was severely affected by the flood in 2017. Our team went there through boat and distributed the relief to the distant remote area.

  • Support Fund for the Welfare of Retired Army Officers Welfare Association (RAOWA)

    SAAF’s primary research confirmed that many officers after retirements from active services are in majority dependent on their pension, and monthly rentals from real estate built on allotted land provided by the Armed Forces. In the event of any large medical expenses, the accumulated pension, and monthly rentals aren’t enough to cover such expenses. SAAF in partnership with RAOWA has established a fund to support such major expenses if not in full atleast extend partial support, however, facilitate lessening the burden on the sufferers, and their family members.

  • Umbrella Foundation

    Umbrella Foundation is a nonprofit organization which is working for Abandoned Children and Women founded in Chittagong by a Women Entrepreneur. Currently, 10 Children are getting free food, education, medical & accommodation in this organization.

  • Charity Begins @ Home

    This project was all about supporting our colleagues at MGH, around our community who are unable to afford the medical challenges of their family members. Multiple projects were extended to our family right at home.

    • Nutrition Packs for our driver’s family: A healthy nutrition pack (Milk, Soup, Biscuit, and Glucose) for all our Drivers & their families at Obhai every month.

    • During every Eid Ul Fitr we try to give new dresses to the kids of our Contractual/ Temporary employees and distribute the zakat amount to the employees who are eligible to get Zakat fund.

  • Assisting Rana Babu

    While the news of Rana Babu, a young worker who went to Oman and faced a terrible accident that led him to a coma reached SAAF, the foundation took care of his entire treatment for the last 1.5 years. He is still getting treatment from Suhana and Anis Ahmed Foundation for four years and is responding well.

  • Medicine Bank for Chittagong Medical College Hospital

    SAAF extended much needed financial support for the critical patients who are rushed to the Emergency Section of Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) every day with no or low financial capabilities to procure critical medicines. Our health is our dignity and SAAF works to protect it.

  • icddr,b

    icddr,b is a Dhaka based, internationally acclaimed health research institute that provides medical treatment to the general patients who require financial aid. This year we took one step forward to stand beside icddr,b and donated new medical equipment worth Tk 30 lakh to icddr,b. We aim to boost its effort in providing diarrhoeal disease and malnutrition treatment for free. The medical equipment include portable X-ray machine, infusion pump, cardiac monitor, defibrillator machine, GlideScope/video laryngoscope, ECG machine, crash carts, pulse oximeters, non-contact thermometers, digital BP machines, oxygen flow meters, and AMBU bags.

    icddr,b provides free treatment to over 200,000 vulnerable people every year and SAAF believes, this little initiative will help it to ensure better medical treatment to its patients.

  • Astha Foundation

    Astha Foundation is working for the personal and professional development of both rural and urban citizens of Bangladesh since 1995. One of the primary initiatives SAAF is providing through the Aastha Foundation is arranging professional training, giving resources, etc. Till now the collaborative initiation of Astha Foundation and Suhana & Anis Ahmed Foundation has helped more than a hundred people to improve their lives and take them forward.
